The Wedding

Her hair is long and gold, like her skin.
Should she wear it down or up in pins?

Her dress is bold and pink.
Should she fall in the river, will she sink?

Her eyes are large and green.
Will anyone remember, that she is just a teen?

For she is small and born not from royalty.
But can she prove her loyalty?

All these questions are a constant through her head.
For what will he think of her when she is dead?

It is her wedding day and she is scared.
But he is already more than prepared.

She walks down the aisle by her brother’s side.
Why couldn't her father be there?
He had lied.

But what if she lied? Isn't she currently?
For she does not love him. He is rude and shows great cruelty.

To her family, her friends,
Oh, when will it ever end?

Her father died, willing to protect.
And now she is no longer a royal subject.

Her mother and sister are forced to serve.
But neither one can observe.

For this is a glorious day!
But all she can do is pray.

The man she is marrying, is here to make her life a living Hell.
And he is doing quite well.

Corruption, isolation, misery, and despair,
Are all about to be declared.

For if she goes through with this,
She will create her own personal abyss.

So long as she lives,
Her husband will never forgive.

For her family made a huge mistake.
They had promised her to a snake.

But it is too late now to take anything back.
Moving forward, her life is now black.

For she is now his Queen.
And he is--and forever will be--her King.
